Matthew Lowman is a recent graduate from Syracuse University in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Matthew is passionate about creative writing, media outreach and strategic communications. Matthew views external relations and campaign strategizing as a important way to connect with diverse audiences and enhance an organization's public image. Matt's experience in nonprofit work has given him a deep understanding of the professional writing, multimedia and marketing skills needed to convey successful communications plans. Through his work with professional organizations like the UN Refugee Agency, the PAHEI and Global Refuge Matthew has deepened his appreciation for challenges that public relations can mediate and engagement it can create. He finds that building connections with clients and the public through writing, social media, and other avenues the most gratifying and exciting aspect of public relations. In his professional career, Matthew is interested in opportunities centered around corporate and government communications, where he can help organizations navigate challenges and communicate effectively with problems and stakeholders.
